Morning team returning to KYSR

After a monthlong absence, the KYSR-FM morning team of Jamie, Jack and Stench — Jamie White, Jack Hine and Mike Roberts — will be returning to the air at 7 a.m. Monday.

Although no explanation was provided when they left, management of the Burbank-based Star 98.7 now says they were bumped, along with other on-air personalities, while a new music format was introduced.

White, on her third set of co-hosts since joining KYSR in 1998, won't be back for long. She's due to go on maternity leave at the end of the month and is expected to be out for at least three weeks. Jack and Stench will continue on the air during that time and will be joined by guest hosts such as Megan Mullally, Lisa Rinna and Dana Devon, according to General Manager Craig Rossi.

American Women in Radio and Television will honor the 2006 National Gracie Award winners at a celebrity Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis on June 19th. Award-winning actress Megan Mullally will serve as this year’s host and honorary chair of the event. “Megan Mullally is truly a ‘jack of all trades,’ and master of them all,” stated AWRT 2006 President, Chickie Bucco, president of Katz Media Direct Marketing Group in New York. “It’s such an honor to have someone as talented and accomplished as Megan host AWRT’s Gracie Allen Awards.”

Added AWRT Executive Director, Maria E. Brennan, CAE, “Megan has been making us laugh on ‘Will & Grace’ for many years. Her passion for her craft and commitment to philanthropic causes, make her the ideal host for this year’s Gracies.”
